IN THIS LIFE we often get curve-balls chucked at us with its number one goal to take us down. Some hits are more severe than others, and when it hits, it can rip a chunk of life from you. With all the pain and suffering in the world today, the number 1 challenge is to live life in spite of the troubles and to hit the curve-ball out of the park.
Fingers on your pulse? The heartbeat symbolises life! I am sure you will agree, a living dog has so much more power than a dead lion. You might also agree that the heartbeat is essential for life and without the beat the heart has no value, but the best part of this exceptional creation is that it does not guarantee that you will have a heartbeat tomorrow. You can’t change the batteries of your heart, can you? This is where the word dodgy springs to mind, it is unreliable. Life as we know it is unreliable and only temporary. In order to truly live life one will need to find a more reliable life.

The challenge started with a king searching for greater life. He discovered that a greater life exist and the Source thereof is trustworthy and true. He was challenging people to try the source out. In part 2 of the no 1 challenge I am going to use the same phrase he did. “Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in Him!” The question though is; can He be trusted? What evidence is available?
He called Himself the Truth, the Way and the Life and He said that He will take care of those who trust in Him as a good shepherd would have taken care of his sheep. He also said “the thief’s purpose is to steel and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them (those who trust Him) a rich and satisfying life.” That sounds like a great promise, doesn’t it? It can only be great if it is from a trustworthy source. The Lord that is mentioned here has been thought of by some as a lunatic but His teachings on living life has been found exceptional. You might have guessed it, the teacher is Jesus Christ, the one name that has no doubt had the most critics in history.
Sadly, the world is full of lies and deceit, it is hard to tell which pictures have been created by AI, or whether someone has actually been on the moon. Most people make their opinions on what the majority are saying and few will really look at what evidence supports the statements. Surely first hand experience would be the best evidence. Tasting whether or not the Lord is good would be best noticed by first hand experience. You might not believe that Jesus Christ or God exist, but I dare you to take on this challenge. When I was a student in Scotland, I stayed in a village called Grantully, approx 70 minutes from the College I was attending in Dundee. On college days I used to leave the house at around 4.30am every morning, to miss the traffic, so that I would end up in Dundee at no later than 6am. Since college only started at 9am, I parked in front of Tesco (a supermarket group in the UK) and pushed my car seat down to sleep for another 2,5 hours.
What a daft thing to do! Yes it sounds daft, doesn’t it? I drove an oldish green Fiat Punto and it’s cooling fan stopped working. So whenever I got caught up in traffic the temperature gage would start climbing rapidly into the red, with smoke usually following soon after. It is not a pretty picture. I always had to carry a couple of liters of water for emergencies. At one stage I did try to fix it, but as a poor student I bought a fan from the scrap yard and installed it myself. It worked for a month then it also died.
On another semester, I had one half-day class each week that only started after lunch and that had less traffic. Well apart form this single day …
As I was over half way towards Dundee, thanks to the beloved road works the traffic queued up for miles. I knew I had some problems. I had this huge truck in front of me obscuring my view, so I did not have a clue how long this queue is plus the truck’s tires and the wet road left a “nice” collage on my window.
My temperature gage was on the brink of stepping into the red zone with smoke starting to come out of the bonnet. The tension that was building up inside me dropped with half a bar, to some relieve, when I saw a lay-by approaching where I could pull of the road and stop.
The moment I got of the road, I escaped death.
The truck that was in front of me had its back demolished by a similar size truck, unable to stop in time.Wow! I still get goose bumps thinking about it. Has it not been for the imperfection of my car, for the very same thing I saw being a problem, I would have been crushed! And this email would not have been written. My God according to His purpose used that very same problem for my good.
Whatever the imperfection you might have, problem you might be facing, your Creator is more than able to use it for the good of those who love Him, believe it!Instead of looking at the mountain of your problem, praise God and look out for when He turns the problem into perfection.
For ages arguments over the origin of life has baffled many minds.
